Cars have always been at the heart of ProTECHT IV.

From protecting a brand-new car before it has covered its first meaningful journey, to transforming an existing vehicle with coloured PPF, custom decals or bespoke pinstriping, the work we do is ultimately about helping our customers get more from their cars.

But behind every finished vehicle is considerably more than film, tools and a workshop.

There is preparation, experience, technique, attention to detail and, perhaps most importantly, an understanding of what makes each car special.

The ProTECHT IV Journal is where we’ll share some of that thinking.

More than just PPF

Paint Protection Film is at the core of what we do, but automotive protection has evolved considerably.

Today, there are more choices than ever when it comes to protecting and enhancing a vehicle. Gloss and Stealth PPF can be used to preserve a factory finish or completely change its character. Coloured PPF offers the opportunity to transform the appearance of a car while retaining and protecting the original paint underneath. Ceramic coatings can complement PPF by further enhancing gloss levels, making surfaces easier to maintain and helping protect against environmental contamination.

And then there is personalisation.

Custom decals, bespoke graphics and hand-finished pinstriping can take a vehicle in a completely different direction.

For us, these aren’t simply products or services. They’re different ways of achieving the same objective: creating a car that looks right and stays that way for as long as possible.

Behind the finished result

One of the things we want to do with the Journal is look beyond a finished photograph of a car we’ve worked on.

A high-quality PPF installation can make the film itself almost disappear. That’s exactly what it should do. But achieving that result involves considerably more than simply applying film to a panel.

Preparation, paint condition, pattern selection, installation technique, edge finishing and quality control all have an important part to play.

We’ll be exploring those details in future articles – including some of the questions we’re asked most often by customers considering PPF for their own cars.

These are the sorts of subjects we’ll be covering.

Cars, projects and the people behind them

The Journal won’t be entirely about technical subjects.

We’ll also be using it to showcase some of the cars that come through the ProTECHT workshop and the projects that particularly stand out.

Every vehicle has its own requirements. A new supercar presents different considerations to a daily-driven SUV, while a customer looking for a subtle layer of protection may have very different priorities to someone wanting to completely transform the appearance of their car.

We’ll share some of those stories, including the thinking behind the work, the products and finishes selected, and the details that make each project unique.

We’ll also give you a glimpse behind the scenes at ProTECHT — from the workshop and installation process to new developments, products, events and the things we’re working on.

Protection with a personal touch

Ultimately, we believe automotive protection shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all exercise.

The right solution depends on the vehicle, how it’s used, what the owner wants to achieve and, sometimes, simply what looks best.

That’s why so much of our work starts with a conversation.

Whether the priority is protecting a new car from stone chips and everyday road damage, preserving a special vehicle, changing its appearance with coloured PPF, or adding something completely bespoke, our role is to understand what you’re trying to achieve and then find the right way of getting there.

The Journal will be an extension of that approach.

A place where we can share what we’ve learned, explain the things that aren’t always obvious and show some of the work we’re proud to put our name to.

This is just the beginning

The new ProTECHT IV website gives us a better opportunity to showcase what we do, but we wanted it to be more than a collection of service pages and photographs.

The Journal is where we’ll continue the conversation.

We’ll be adding new articles covering automotive protection, PPF technology, vehicle personalisation, project stories, advice and what’s happening at ProTECHT IV.
